President Buhari summons Borno state Gov. over death report in IDP camps.

There were indications yesterday that the Presidency who is understandably perturbed by the reports of malnutrition and death cases of some of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in government camps in Borno State has summoned the Governor, Alhaji Kassim Shettima, for some explanations.

Recall that Doctors Without Borders- (Médecins Sans Frontières), MSF, an international humanitarian aid organization last week released a statement alongside photographs of grossly malnourished stating that about 24,000 IDPs needed urgent medical attention.
The organization also stated that at least 30 people, mostly children dying every day.

The report, it was gathered, infuriated President Muhammadu Buhari who felt that despite huge spendings by the different levels of government as well as donor agencies and philanthropists for the camps and the IDPs, there was poor result to show for it.

Shittima who was at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday was seen coming down from the office of the Chief of Staff.
He however refused to speak to Journalists who had approached him for comments on the allegations and also his mission at the Presidential Villa.
The governor kept mom on the issues, saying it was a private visit as he walked towards his waiting car.
