The Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on
Agricultural Projects was received by the management of Success Squad
Farms.
The Farm situated along Ibom Airport Road in Uyo cultivated Cucumber,
Okro, pepper and many other cash crops.
The management of the farm invited the hard working SA to witness
their 2016 harvest.
The Cash Crops farm is owned by the former Commissioner for
Education and the immediate past Commissioner Ministry of women
Affairs and Social welfare Mrs Eunice Thomas.
Speaking to the Face of Agriculture Hon Armstrong Moses, The former
winning SA for finding time out of his busy schedule to visit the farm,
She said her objective of establishing the farm was to contribute to the
Agricultural needs of the Akwa Ibom Community and provide
employment to the teeming youth population in the State.
Mrs Thomas also said that some years ago one Mr Akuku Utitofon
Udom approached her with the idea of the Farm and convince her to
venture into the farm business, she said she was surprise to see Mr
Akuku a graduate of communication Arts having great Ideas and interest
in farming adding that she bought the ideas and employed Mr Akuku as
the farm manager.
On his part, the farm manager Mr Akuku Utitofon thanked Hon Armstrong
Moses for honoring their invitation saying that; " Success Squad Farms
has so far employed more than twenty youths to work at various
department of the farm"
He also said that apart from the Cucumber and other cash crops
harvested this seasons the management plan to expand the farm to
accommodate more species of cash crops fro the next planting season.
In response the Akwa Watch Award winning Governor's Aide thanked the
proprietor of the Farm Mrs Eunice Thomas And the farm management for
the reception, The SA thanked them for joining the Governor Udom
Emmanuel Agricultural Revolution and food sufficiency drive in the state,
and also commended them in the strides they have taken so far.
The SA said that the Current Administration of Governor Udom Gabriel
Emmanuel has good plans to boost the Agricultural sector and
encourage famers in Akwa Ibom State.
The highpoint of the visit was harvest of the cash crops by the
Governor's Aide.
