A frontline Political stalwart in Awa Iman Clan, Onna Local Government Area Chief Inokon Inokon has described as malicious the recent reports making the mills in some media platform over the alleged demolition of a thatch house in Awa for the construction of a car park for Governor Emmanuel's guests.
Chief Inokon who is a spokesperson for the Udo Essien family where the said property is located, in an interview, said that the road construction caused many buildngs that interfered in the construction plan to be removed and that compensation has been paid to owners of the affected houses.
He wondered why the building in question should attract unnecessary attention in what was amicably resolved within the family.
The spokesman affirmed that due compensation was paid but the occupants of the building needed more money to fund their relocation as they are aged fearing that the money paid would not afford them a modern accomodation.
He said that they are not against the develpment witnessed in the area but wants a little more support from their brother Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Chief Inokon stated that the demolition was to make room for a walk path as enshrined in the road project design and not a car park as alleged.
He congratulated the Governor for the superior performance in the state and for giving a face lift to the area which has now become mini township courtesy of the development .
Chief Inokon who called on the perpetrators to desist from such cheap blackmail emphasised that they love their son and welcome more developments to the area.
