Akwa Ibom police arrest 9 involved in illegal task force and other crimes in Uyo

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested nine persons suspected to be involved in various crimes ranging from kidnapping, robbery, rape and operation of illegal task force in the state.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), ASP Cordelia Nwawe announced this while parading the suspects to journalists at Police Force Headquarters, Uyo.

Those paraded include, a three man gang of suspected robbers and rapists who disguise as commercial tricycle operators, targeting unsuspecting female passengers, robbing and raping them.
Others were suspected kidnappers and illegal task force operators.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Commissioner, CP Murtala Mani who spoke through the PPRO, Cordelia Nwawe warned criminals to stay clear of the state as the command is fully ready to rid the society of all crimes.
She added that the Command’s stop and search operation has yielded positive results in recent weeks.
