Flying Eagles depart Abuja for Khartoum

The Flying Eagles on Thursday departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja for Khartoum for 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifying match against Sudan, Adewale Ajayi said.
The national under-20 male football team had earlier been scheduled to depart Nigeria on Wednesday for the first leg match of the qualifiers but was put off following some logistic problems.

The team comprising 18 players and nine Nigeria Football Federation officials departed Abuja on board an Ethiopian Airways flight at about 12.00 noon.
Ajayi, who is the teams’ Media Officer, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja that the delegation was being led by Ibrahim Gusau, the Zamfara FA Chairman. The team will tackle a Sudanese side that has yet to kick a ball in the qualifiers following the withdrawal of their second round opponent, Malawi.
The match against Sudan had earlier been fixed for Friday, but was shifted to 8pm on Sunday by the Sudanese Football Federation.
