The Kwara State Police Command has arrested and paraded suspects ranging from culpable homicide and suspected ritual killers
As part of efforts by the Kwara command of the Nigerian Police to rid
the state of suspected ritual killers which has been rampant in recent
times, the State Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula paraded one
suspect from Rore town near Omu Naran who allegedly killed a resident in
his farm and beheaded him.
Parading the suspects, the State CP Okaula said the suspect killed
and beheaded a man in his farm and the refusal of the herbalist to buy
the head led to his arrest.
The suspect who displayed the head in an interview confessed to the
killing alleging that the dead was a mad man that usually plucked fruits
in his farm without his knowledge although saying he was drunk when he
committed the act.
In another development, the police also paraded two brothers who
allegedly killed another resident at Igba Iroko village while hawking
drugs.
They confessed to the killing in order to implicate their eldest
brother who was assumed to have taken a larger portion of the properties
left behind by their late father adding that their brother is innocent
of the act.
The Commissioner of Police assured of the readiness of the police to
rid the state of criminals and urged the people to continue offering
useful information to this effect.
