Tears in Edo State as Stephen Keshi’s corpse arrives (photos)

The corpse of the Late Stephen Keshi arrived Asaba, the Delta state capital, amid tears on Thursday, July 28.

A service of songs was earlier held at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Benin on the same day. The body arrived the Indoor Hall, Asaba, at about 4:33pm and the event was well attended by family members. A service of songs/vigil mass will also hold at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Illah, Delta state by 6:00pm same day.
The body leaves Asaba for Illah on Friday, July 29, 2016, by 7am, and there will be a brief stopover at the Ogbelani Palace for traditional rites as a palace chief by 8:00am, followed by lying in state at his family home, Ukpologwu Quarters, Illah, from 8:30am.
Stephen Keshi who led Nigeria to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations died in Benin on June 8, after he was said to have complained of a leg ailment.
