Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho was stretched out of the pitch on Wednesday night during the UEFA Champions League play-off clash between Manchester City and Romanian side, Steaua Bucuresti.

Iheanacho pulled up while chasing a pass in the 74th minute and had to be replaced by Fernandinho.

Regardless of the injury, Manchester City ensured that they progressed to the group phase of the Champions League with a 6-0 aggregate win over their opponents.

They will now wait to know who their group foes will be after Thursday’s draws.

There are fears that the 19-year-old may have cupped a calf injury and may not be available for national duties on September 3, for the clash against Tanzania in the 2017 AFCON qualifying series.

Iheanacho is originally one of the 23 players invited by the new German Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr
