CERVICAL CANCER: SIGNS
Cervical cancer, otherwise known as cancer of the cervix is one of the many killer diseases affecting women in the world today; however, it can still be treated and prevented if realized early- the chances of discovering this early is very slim, however, a pap smear test will do.
This killer disease is a sexually transmitted infection and it is caused by various factors, which includes exposure to sex early in life, multiple pregnancies, excessive birth control pills, low immunity and smoking.
It is caused by a virus known as the human papillomavirus (HPV) and it is highly contagious. Here are some signs of cervical cancer which you never knew:
BLEEDING
Cervical cancer may crack or dry out cervix walls, hereby resulting into vaginal bleeding; it could also be a rectal or bladder bleeding.
UNUSUAL DISCHARGE
The abnormal growth of cells in the cervix causes the uterine wall to rid off, hereby, resulting into a watery discharge.
URINARY PROBLEMS
As a result of the compression of the kidney and bladder caused by the swelling of the cervix, the passage of urine becomes difficult and painful.
WEIGHT REDUCTION
The stomach also compresses as the cervix swells, hereby resulting in the loss of appetite and a reduction in weight.
GENITAL WARTS
The appearance of genital warts signals the development of the HPV which informs the chances of cervical cancer.
ANAEMIA
This is caused by abnormal bleeding and its signal ranges from fatigue to a speed in the rate of heartbeat.
All of this signs are reflections of cervical cancer, however, it does not mean that you have cervical cancer when you experience any one of these signs, ensure you meet with your doctor for regular medical checkups.
